Walking the Halls The Rowe Intermediate faculty and staff are off to a great start! Rowe Intermediate's motto is "Building a Solid Foundation for a Strong Future." It is an honor to serve as principal of J.H. Rowe Intermediate School with an outstanding team of dedicated teachers, staff, supportive parents, and community. Our goal at RIS is to ensure that each student has the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and self-esteem that are essential for success in school. Therefore, we are committed to providing a safe, academically challenging environment where students respect themselves and value diversity in others. In order for our students to continue being successful, effective communication and teamwork will remain a top priority. Walk with me as I walk the quiet halls of J.H. Rowe Intermediate School. From the sights and sounds, the teaching and learning process is taking place. Our students are focusing on specific learning objectives, benchmark tests are being analyzed for strengths and weaknesses, and parents are meeting with teachers. We remind you that your child needs you to take an active role in his/her education. For example, review posted grades via Family Access and the progress report that is routinely sent home the third week of each cycle. If your child is in need of improvement, we encourage you to schedule a conference with his/her teacher. If your child is receiving unsatisfactory conduct reports, we encourage you to review the campus rules in the student handbook. The month of October is expected to be a busy month for Rowe Intermediate. Students are scheduled to take benchmark tests in all core subject areas. We have a parent conference day scheduled October 15th 11:00 a. m. to 6:00 p. m. We would love to see all of our parents on that day to follow up on their child progress. Also, at Rowe there will be a "Get to Know Your Mentor" session, which is designed to help youth overcome the risk factors that can lead to educational failure. All adults interested in participating in the mentor program should contact Sherry Wilson at (409) 382-1176. The faculty and staff welcomes our new PRIDE organization. We encourage all parents to take part in helping the Rowe PRIDE organization become a great success. Thank you for walking the halls with me. |
