Rudolph Simon

Rudolph Simon, 95, of Jasper, passed away September 12, 2007 at Christus Hospital-Jasper Memorial. A native of Finentrop, Germany, he was a member of the German Army during WWII as an Engineer/Scout. Rudolf moved to the U.S. in 1950 and was employed as a Chemist/Brewmaster in Kentucky for Baverian Brewing Co. He later moved to Ohio and was employed as a Chemist with Schmidt and Standard Brewing Co. After retirement, he moved to Jasper in 1982.

Memorial services were held on September 15, 2007 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper.

Survivors include his son, Peter Simon of New Orleans, LA; his daughter and son-inlaw, Monika and Curtis Yeary of Jasper; along with 4 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.

Jonnye Sue Davidson Martindale was born in Hemphill, Texas February 27, 1924 to Susie Argenta Coats Davidson and John Goodrich Davidson. Jonnye Sue was a devoted wife and mother, supporting her family in all aspects of their lives.

Jonnye Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Virgil Martindale. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Woods; her son, George Michael Martindale; two daughters, Diane Martindale Williford and Mary Martindale Lindsey; grandchildren, Michelle Martindale Rodriguez, Lori Williford McCray, Julie Williford Carrell, Jennie Williford Holloway, Jessica Williford Merritt, and Tonya Grochoske Lillig; stepgrandchildren Christian Lee Cole, Jonathan Kelly Cole, and Kevin Edward Lindsey, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Edward Lindsey, Scott David Lillig, Randy Albert Rodriguez, Christian Lee Cole, Jonathan Cole, and Mark Hebert Kleypas. Honorary pallbearers will be John A. Martindale, Seborn Pickle, Dennis McCray, Joe Merritt, Steve Seale, John H. Seale and John P. Seale.

For those desiring, the family has requested memorials be given to the First Baptist Church of Jasper, Building Fund, 314 N. Main, Jasper, TX 75951 or the March of Dimes, Attn: DRFR 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.

The family received friends Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Jasper. Interment will follow at Little Hope Cemetery near Jasper, Texas.
