Pickle steps in as assistant prosecutor

Jasper attorney Anne J. Pickle has succeeded Alex Simmons as assistant prosecutor, according to District Attorney Steve Hollis.

Simmons took a leave of absence early in September. When she returned, Hollis said Simmons submitted her letter of resignation Sept. 17.

"Anne Pickle is our new assistant prosecutor. Anne grew up in Jasper and has practiced law here for years. She brings a lot to the table," Hollis sid.

Pickle will handle misdemeanor cases and protective orders and assist the DA with Child Protective Services cases and felonies.

Hollis said the new victims' assistant is Larrnoia Gray, formerly with the district clerk's office.
