Safety comes first withMike's Motorsports

Newsboy photo/Sharon Kerr SAFETY is a top priority for Mike Hallam, owner of Mike's Motorsports, a new business at 308 N.Wheeler. Besides all the bright colored and camo vehicles you see out front, inside the shop are helmets, gloves and safety accessories, and with every purchase Hallam recommends a visit to www.ATVsafety.org.
Mike Hallam has always had what most folks consider "fun" jobs, so when he retired from his first love, coaching, it was a natural to start a business based on off road machines.

Hallam grew up in Jasper, graduated from the University of Texas, and worked as a coach in several locations for more than 20 years.

His new business, Mike's Motorsports, at 308 N. Wheeler includes ATVs, UTVs (utility terrain vehicles), and all the accessories, safety gear and specialty oils to own and operate them.

"I have everything from electric scooters to 1,000 cc four-seat dune buggies," Hallam said. "Besides sales, we also service these vehicles."

With each sale, Hallam recommends new owners review information at www.ATVsafety.org. He plans to hold safety classes for riders of all ages.
