Red Ribbon Week sends anti-drug message home

Next week, Oct. 22-26, is Red Ribbon Week for schools, when student speak up for "We've got better things to do than drugs."

It is the oldest and largest national drug prevention campaign in the country.

Rowe has a full week of activities planned. Monday students decorate the fence and cars with red ribbons.

Tuesday Rowe students should wear black for "Black Out Drugs" day, and they will see a drug and alcohol film and chant, "Drinking keeps you stinking/smoking keeps you choking."

Wednesday Rowe students dress Hawaiian for "Lei Off Drugs" day. Thursday it's caps and sun glasses for "Put a Cap on Drugs and Shade Them Out." Friday all Rowe students should wear red for the morning rally.

Parnell will have their Red Ribbon Rally the following

week, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m., with a visit from Leo the Drug-Free Lion.
