DETCOG looking for outreach events

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments has been awarded funding from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to provide community outreach and application assistance for state services, including Medicaid, food stamps, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), temporary assistance for needy families and Medicaid long term care.

"Medical benefits are available for children, women, people with disabilites and older adults," said Danielle Sells, program manager. "Cash assistance is also available through the temporary assistance for needy families program."

Anyone interested in scheduling outreach events in Jasper, Angelina, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Trinity, or Tyler counties can contact DETCOG at 384-5704.
