Learn to bid on govt. contracts

The Texas Department of Transportation will offer a small business briefing in Beaumont that includes an opportunity to bid for Onthe Spot contracts up to $25,000, according to a press release. The seminars will be Oct. 24-25 at the Holiday Inn Plaza Hotel on I-10 and Walden Road.

The briefings will include key strategies for marketing, learning industry requirements and how to do business with the state, and how to become a certified woman-owned or minorityowned business.

More than 40 state agencies take part in the program, including such diverse fields at TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice) and Health and Human Services.
