U.S. Veterans needed

Jasper High School's theatre department will host a Veterans' Day program Nov. 12. Any U.S. Veterans who would like to participate in or attend this program can call 382-1356.

Chapter 1319

The Silsbee-Jasper Chapter 1319 of the National Association of Current and Retired Federal Employees will meet in St. Mark's Catholic Educational Bldg., 905 N. 9th St., in Silsbee at 11 a.m. Oct. 17. Guest speaker will be Diane Clark.

Social Security

The Social Security representative will be in Jasper at the Senior Center on Fletcher St. Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. - noon and in Newton at the old hospital building from 1 - 3 p.m. For more information call 924-6413.

Rock club

The Pineywoods Gem and Mineral Society will meet Thursday, Oct. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at their clubhouse at 100 Zavalla St. in Jasper.

Bluebonnet Club

The Bluebonnet Garden Club will meet Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. in the pavilion at Sandy Creek Park for a work day. Bring gloves and a garden tool. Call Caroline Hart at 384-5357 if unable to attend.

Recycle trailer

The recycle trailer will be in the Community Church parking lot Oct. 19-22.

Golf memorial

A golf tournament honoring Richard Purkey Sr. will be at Bayou Din in Beaumont Oct. 19 with check-in at 7 a.m.

Jasper Ducks Unlimited

The Jasper Ducks Unlimited Banquet will be Oct. 20 at the Jasper VFW Hall at 5:30 p.m. with dinner, raffle, auction and door prizes.

Burkeville Little League

Cade Building

Burkeville Little League will host a haunted Cade building Oct. 25 - 26 from 6 - 9 p.m. with activities and homemade chili. Admission is $1.50 for kindergarten and under, and $2 for first grade and up. For more information call Misty Richmond at 489- 2862.

Texas Extension Education

The Texas Extension Education Association of Jasper County is inviting women to Fall Fest at Curtis Church, three miles west on U.S. Highway 63, at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

Adult Co-Ed softball
