Fall Fest photo contest winners announced

The East Texas Photography Club met at the Pavillion in the Pines two weeks ago to judge entries in the 23rd annual photo contest, but the last word came at Fall Fest when fair attendees picked Delores Warner's black and white photo as the People Choice Award winner.

In other categories, Jim Salles of Beaumont won adult best of show and first in scenic/landscape and first in black and white; Luci Jones-Fisher of Brookeland won first in sunrise/sunset; Georgia Purdy of Jasper won first in animals/wildlife and also people; Susan O'Brien of Jasper won first in miscellaneous; Carolyn Chambliss of Jasper won first in flowers/ plants; Julie Scheibe first in digitally manipulated.

Justin White of Jasper won best of show in the junior division and first in the age 12 and under division. Sara Oglesbee of San Augustin won first in the age 13-17 division.

The East Texas Photography club holds two annual photo contests, one for Fall Fest and one for the Azalea Fest. Monthly meetings are the last Tuesday of each month at city hall at 7 p.m. For more information, call 384-3167.
