Sheriff seeks help to apprehend aggravated robbery suspect

The Jasper County Sheriff's Department is asking for information to help catch an aggravated robbery suspect that has been operating in a dozen counties surrounding Jasper, according to Lt. Curtis Frame.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6" to 5'9" tall, 150-180 pounds, 35 -55 years old, salt and pepper hair and a mustache, according to the sheriff's press release.

He hits small stores like Solly's in the afternoon or evening, waits until customers have left, shows the clerk a gun and demands that money from the register be put in a paper bag, according to Frame.

Law enforcement officers have several videos of him in action. He usually wears a cap, large lens sunglasses and long sleeve shirts. The fact that he looks much bulkier in the chest than legs may indicate he is wearing body armor under the shirt, according to Frame.

The weapon he displays is a black semi-automatic pistol believed to be a government model 45 caliber, according to the sheriff's report.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at 384-5417 or Crime Stoppers at 409 724-TIPS.
