Cordova

Jasper High School

Jesse Cordova, a senior of Jasper High School, has been selected as student of the week for Oct. 22 - 26.

"Jesse is an excellent choice for student of the week. She works hard in softball; she hsa a great attitude and displays leadership skills both on the field and off," said Coach Nancy Walker. "She is always encouraging to her teammates."

Cordova is the daughter of Dennis and Debra Cordova.

Jasper Junior High School

Jonathan Martinez, a seventh grade student of Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for Oct. 22- 26.

"Jonathan is a very polite, hard-working student," said teacher Peggy Nimmo. "He arrived in the United States last year from Mexico and is learning English at a fantastic rate."

Martinez enjoys playing soccer and basketball during his spare time. He is very involved with church activities at St. Michael's Catholic Church. His favorite subject is math.

Martinez is the son of Marcelino and Consuelo Martinez.
