Eyeglass donations being taken

The Newton Leo Club will pass out door hangers Oct. 30 to remind people to donate their old eyeglasses for recycling by the Lions Club. Newton High School has 26 Leos, the youth division of the Lions Club.

Eyeglasses can be dropped off at the Newton Pharmacy or Brookshire Brothers in Newton.

In December, the Newton Leos will collect sweaters, jackets and coats to give to those less fortunate. For more information, contact the Leo sponsor, Elaine Kelley, at Newton High School, 379-4731.
