Lady Bulldogs put up good fight with Hardin-Jefferson

The Jasper Lady Bulldogs played their best game of the season against Hardin-Jefferson last week even though they did not win, according to Coach Casey Murphy.

"We played better than we have all year," Murphy said. "This was really our best game."

The series went to five games. Jasper won the first game 25-16, lost game two 25-18, won the third 25-16 and then lost games four and five, 25-15 and 25-8, respectively.

Janice Shelby was highpoint server with 18; D'Aundrea Spikes had 10 hits and Deanna Spikes dug up 29 balls.

The meeting with Hamshire-Fannett, who is currently third in the district, was a different game altogether. The Lady 'Dogs lost 25-12, 25-6 and 25-16. Individual stats were not available.

"We just rolled over and didn't give them much competition," Murphy said.

Junior Varsity also lost both contests.

Against Hardin-Jefferson, they took game one 25-19 and then lost 25-20 in games two and three.

Michelle Wallace was high-point server with 21; Courtney Baker had 10 good hits.

Individual stats were not available for the Hamshire- Fannett game. JV lost 25-23 and 25-14.

Jasper played their final district game last night and honoring the seniors.
