Propositions try to get around control
Your Viewpoint
By LYNWOOD JACOBS Jasper

Please vote no on amendments 2, 4, 12, 15, and 16. These five propositions are an attempt to get around the one control that we have over spending by our Texas Legislature.

By law, when in session our State legislature cannot spend more than the estimated income as determined by our State. Texans do not need to approve the issuing of 9.5 billion dollars worth of bonds included in these five amendments.

If the cause is worthy it should be included in the general appropriation bill. If the cause is for a 9.5 billion dollar deficit spending pork barrel slush fund to waste on vague programs, they should be defeated.
