The Jasper County Sheriff's Department and Kirbyville Police Department teamed up for a drug checkpoint sting Oct. 23 at Call Junction.

"It's another tool we can use in the drug war," said Sheriff Ronnie McBride.

McBride reported that they made four arrests, all drug related, and detained almost a dozen more people on minor infractions such as no driver's license.

"We know drugs are moving on the highway and this is one way of taking drugs off the road," McBride said.
