Students explore Outdoor Learning Day

Parnell fourth graders had fun outside all day Oct. 26 while participating in "Outdoor Learning Day."

They learned about differnt jobs and had a chance to experience a taste of some of them.

Bret Hudson with Priority One, an EMS service, allowed children to come inside the ambulance and take a peek.

Marguerite Braden of Petals and Pebbles Candy Bouquet demonstrated how to put together a bouquet. Each child was allowed to make their own bouquet to take home.

Other agencies and speakers at the event were: Martin Dies Jr. State park, Brad Spivey and Gary Coker; Jasper Fire Department, Greg Morgan; ATV Safety Institute, Malcolm Seal; National Weather Service, Roger Erickson; National Dairy Council, Robert Koonce; Texas General Land Office, Colin Harlow; Jasper County Emergency Corps., Billy Williford; and Whittlin' George, George Brown.

The children learned about many job opportunities available to them when they are older.
