KJB to set recycle goal

Texas Recycle Day is Nov. 15 and Keep Jasper Beautiful has set an ambitious goal: to fill two trailers that day.

The regular recycle weekend is Nov. 16-19. Coordinator Patty Shaw says that participation in the recycling program has been steadily improving as people become aware of what can be recycled:

Paper: includes newspaper, magazines, catalogs, mail, paperback books. Plastic: plastic bottles, jugs and jars. Aluminum and steel: cans only. Cardboard: corrugated boxes, cereal boxes, paper towel rolls.

The next KJB meeting is Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the Woman's Civic Club across from Wesley Center.
