Brookeland celebrates homecoming week

Brookeland began homecoming celebrations Nov. 5 - 10. Today, the annual "Dogs for Cats" evening of fellowship sponsored by the local churches will be held from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, the Queen's Court, Pre-K - eighth grade, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in the gym following the beans and rice supper, which begins at 5 p.m. At 7:15 p.m. the Wildcats will show their spirit at the bonfire behind the gym.

Friday begins with Blue and Gold Day and a pep rally at 2 p.m. The basketball games against Douglas begin at 5 p.m. with varsity girls, followed by J.V. boys at 6 p.m. The crowning of the 2007 - 2008 Homecoming Queen takes place at 7 p.m. The varsity boys game will begins immediately after.

Nov. 10 at 8 a.m., homecoming week end with arts and crafts booths, a parade, and a lunch honoring the class of 1957.
