Debate, theatre students win Sweepstakes Trophy

Jasper High School debate and theatre students won the Sweepstakes Trophy Oct. 27 at the Bridge City academic trounament.

Trayton Oakes and David Cleveland- Hadley won second place in cross examinination debate. Dave Patel and Jacy Manning won third place in cx debate, and Tom Wisniewski and Affan Zafar won fourth place in cx debate.

In monologue competition, Marcie Ratcliff won first place. In improvisation competition, the group of Sarah Wade, Lauren Truett, Thong Guyen and James Oaks won first. Also, the group of Charlotte O'Brien, Hannah Vickers and Caitlyn Dubose won third. In props competition, Vickers and O'Brien won first, and Wade won third. In storytelling, Vickers won second, Wade won third and Rebekah Henderson won fourth place.
