Students of the Week
Shaelyn Williams, a fifth grade student at Rowe Intermediate, has been selected as student of the week for the week of Nov. 12 - 16. "Shaelyn is a model student. She is always on time and prepared for class," said Margaret Myers. She enjoys drawing, writing, and sports. Her favorite subject is science. She is a student council representative at Rowe. Williams is the daughter of Sammie and Helen Williams. Jasper Junior High School Samuel Vargas, an eighth grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has been selected as student of the week for the week of Nov. 12 - 16. "Samuel is always willing to help other Hispanic students with their English skills," said teacher Peggy Nimmo. "He has a ready smile for everyone and does his best." Vargas enjoys riding his bike, playing soccer, baseball, and basketball during his spare time. His favorite subject is math. He is the son of Samuel and Hermelinda Vargas.
Jasmyne Hafford, a senior of Jasper High School, has been selected as student of the week for the week of Nov. 12-16. "Jasmyne is committed to her school work, always respectful and reflects integrity in her character," said teacher Melissa Moore.
She is the daughter of Patrina Moran and Mae Gill.
