Newton Lions

The Newton Lions Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 15, at the First Baptist Church. Charlet Meye of the County Extension offiice will present a program on diabetes, which she says has become an American epidemic.

Social Security

Recycle Day

Keep Jasper Beautiful is sponsoring the second annual Jasper Recycle Day with drinks and trees to give away. Recycle trailers will be at the Community Church parking lot Thursday, Nov. 15, for paper, plastic, aluminum, steel and cardboard. For more information, call 384- 6760.

Used Books

The Jasper High School Library will continue their used book sale through Friday, Nov. 16, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Gospel Jubilee

There will be a Gospel Jubilee Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Serenity Hill Camp, Hwy. 63 East of Jasper on CO Rd. 276. It will feature The Welkers, One Reason, Hannah Austin and others. For more information contact Ricky Wood at 936-465-4149.

Cruisers

The Lakes Area Cruisers will hold their annual benefit and car show for Lakes Area Hospice in Jasper Nov. 16-18 at the Ramada Inn on 190 W. Friday night begins at 5 p.m. For more information call 384-8745.

East End chili

The East End Volunteer Fire Department is having a chili lunch fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. until they run out, at EEVFD Station #2 at Harrisburg on U.S. Highway 63 East .

Christmas in the Park

Toys for Tots

Christmas Parade

The Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade will be Friday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. Theme is "Christmas 'round the World."

Project Graduation

Jasper Project Graduation meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Jasper High School Library. For more information call Charla James at 384-7866.

Catfish Cabin

Catfish Cabin in Lumberton, Hwy. 96, first light on right, will host a Bluegrass, Gospel and Country Western music Christmas party Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. Instruments can be brought to play and voices to sing. Limited seating so RSVP at 727-1403.
