Nell Powers

Funeral services for Nell Powers, 80, of Jasper were held Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with burial at Jasper City Cemetery.

Nell died November 13, 2007 in Phoenix, AZ. A native of Jasper, she was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Jasper and the local photography club. Nell served 40 years as the elected District Clerk of Jasper County and was an active member of ABWA, the Texas Clerk's Association, having perfect attendance at the County & District Clerk's Association Conferences.

Survivors include two daughters, Sondra Powers, and Lynda Powers Bratten & husband Stan; stepson Rick Bidne; brother Tom A. Stiles and wife Beverly; sister Joy Stiles Johnson; and four grandchildren Bradley Bratten, Stacy Bratten, Aaron Bidne and Jayme Kiraly.
