Beard house one of Cook's classics
Each home salutes an organization or event

Angie Beard's home at 310 Olive Street will salute Lakes Area Hospice on the Christmas Tour of Homes Dec. 13.

The house is almost a century old, one of the classics featured in Bitsy Hanna's book, "W.P. Cook, Contractor and Builder." It was built in 1919 and is the third of four houses that Cook constructed in Jasper for A.L. "Leake" Mays.

The two-story white frame home is a classic of Craftsman design with most of the original architecture in place.
