JCSO looks into death of infant The Jasper County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 21-month old Evadale male Monday, Dec. 10. According to a press release issued by the department, deputies responded to a residence on County Road 716 in Evadale and met with Leo Desormeaux. Deputies entered the residence and located the body of a 21-month old male. Dosormeaux told deputies that the child fell in the bath tub the night before. Dosormeaux told police he believed the child was having a seizure and became traumatized and placed the child in his bed. He told police he didn't call 911 or law enforcement because he was scared and upset. Justice of the Peace Joe Wilkinson has ordered an autopsy, which will be conducted at the Jefferson County morgue. At this time, no charges have been filed in the case, which is being investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff's office and Texas Rangers. |
