Boatner docks in Dallas

Gerren Keith Boatner, a former Jasper High School student, has completed "a flawless five years and six months of naval service," according to a Navy press release.

Petty Officer Boatner joined the Navy in 2002 and has completed a Western Pacific deployment and a world tour visiting more than 19 countries.

He will serve the next three years as a Navy recruiter in Dallas.

"I want to give everyone the chance that I was given, and share the great opportunities the Navy has given me," Boatner said.

Boatner is the son of Karen White and Cecil R. Boatner.
