John E. Jones

Funeral services for John E. "Johnny" Jones, 82, of Jasper will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007, with Masonic Graveside Rites to follow at Corinth-White Rock Cemetery in San Augustine.

Johnny died December 15, 2007 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. Born in San Augustine County, he was a long time Jasper resident and a member of Jasper's DeWitt Clinton Masonic Lodge #29 AF & AM. He retired from Jasper Newton Electric Co-op in 1982. Johnny loved dancing, deer hunting, fox hunting and country & gospel music.

Survivors include son Roy M. Jones and wife Donna of Tioga, TX; son-inlaw James Adkins of Jasper; five daughters, Judy Morgan and husband Frank of Jasper, Margaret Pratt and husband David of New Waverly, Charlotte Daniels of Pflugerville, Elaine Adkins of Jasper, and Johnnie Mae Adkins of Pineland; two sisters, Helen Chandler of Vidor and Sue Burkhart of Porter; 12 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
