Byerly to run for JC sheriff's post
Byerly's family settled in Jasper County in the 1830s. He was born and raised in this area. He attended school in Jasper and Evadale and is a certified criminal investigator and former criminal district attorney investigator. "I am a 100 percent progun NRA member and I have a zero tolerance with drugs and violent crimes period and will work with the youth of Jasper County," Byerly said. "Our sheriff's department must be restructured from the 'Good Ole Boy System.' There seems to be some mistrust by our community of how cases are handled by our sheriff. "Citizens should fee assured that every case handled by our sheriff will be treated with the same integrity as any other, no matter race, age, level of income or just who you are," Byerly said. "I will be that working sheriff for you. I will work major crime scenes with my officers." Byerly said he will move his office back to the front entrance of the sheriff's department and will have an open door policy with the citizens of Jasper County. "If I am not in my office, I will be available to anyone who feels the necessity to talk directly with me by cell phone and this number will be given to the public," Byerly said. "Jasper County needs a sheriff that will take responsibility for his actions. As sheriff, your safety and concerns will be my top priority. I will work for you, the citizens of Jasper County, and under my direction, the Jasper County Sheriff's Department will become the public servant it was meant to be. If elected Sheriff, I will not forget the people who put me in office." |
