Rose society

The Lakes Area Rose Society will meet Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Jasper City Council Room, 465 S. Main, in Jasper. A slide program will be presented, discussion on fine-tuning rose buds, and rose catalogs distributed. Call 423-4756 for more information.

Chamber banquet

The Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce annual recognition banquet will be held at the First United Methodist at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25. To sponsor a table, purchase tickets, or reserve seating call the Chamber at 384-2762.

Miss Valentine Pageant

The Miss Valentine Pageant will be Feb. 9 at noon in the Newton Elementary Auditorium. Divisions include ages 0 - 18 years. Deadline for entry and fees is Feb. 1. Rodeo

The Jasper County Jr. Livestock Rodeo will be Jan. 26 at the arena on Hwy. 777 across from the airport. Entries must be paid by 1 p.m.; rodeo starts at 2 p.m. For more information, call Linda Powell at 489-2556.

Jackpot

A jackpot barrel race will be held Jan. 26 at the Jasper County Jr. Livestock Arena on Hwy. 77 starting at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Coty Smith scholarship fund. Relay for Life will man the concession stand. For more information call Todd McDonald at 384-0643.

Bulldog Bark
