JJH girls post wins over rival West Orange-Stark

Both Junior High girls basket ball teams posted wide-margin victories over West Orange last week.

Led by Diqua Spikes, who scored 17 points, the seventh grade A team dumped in 40 points to the Lady Mustangs' 17. In addition, she grabbed 10 rebounds, two steals and had three assists.

Miqua Spikes tossed in eight points, snatched 6 rebounds, had five steals, and two assists. Chelsea Thomas contributed seven points, and dominated the boards with a team high of 11 rebounds plus three steals.

Sierra Mithchell had four points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist. Julia Land had two points, three rebounds, four steals and two assists. Ashley Clark had two points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Jalen Weatherspoon contributed one steal and one assist.

The eighth grade A team took their win with a final score of 40-25.

Kim Lewis dominated and shined for the Lady Bulldogs, as she poured in 28 points, took down five rebounds and six steals.

Nykista Hennington led the team in rebounds with six. She also chipped in two with three steals and two assists.

Destiny Adams sank two shots for four points, with three rebounds and a steal. Markeyia Armstrong had four points and four rebounds. Ebony Adams contributed two points, two assists and one rebound. Robyn Winkle had three rebounds and one steal. Jade Tukes had two rebounds and led the team in assists with four. Daneisha Sells had one rebound, one steal and one assist.
