Few dress code

Jasper ISD has established a dress code in order to teach grooming and personal hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards.

Since a student's appearance many times governs his attitude and behavior, a neat, clean, modest appearance is important. Highlights of the elementary level dress code include the following:

• All students should practice cleanliness and personal hygiene.

• No obscene slogans or other emblems.

• Shorts must be in good taste for the individual student.

• No bare midriffs, see-through blouses, pants or clothing that exposes undergarments are permitted.

• Hats and caps are not to be worn in the building except on a specified day.

• All students are required to wear appropriate footwear. Cleats, thongs, shower shoes, house slippers, "flip-flops" etc. are not allowed.

• Sun dresses with spaghetti straps, strapless, or the backs out are not permitted unless worn with a jacket.

• Clothing should be worn as designed- pants at the waist, belts buckled, overalls and jumper straps buckled.

• Clothing with buttons, snaps, zippers, or other closures must be manageable by the student.

• No hairstyles that cause attention.

• Pants shall be worn at the waist with no visible sign of undergarments. (new)

• Pants with holes cannot reveal skin or undergarments. (new)

• Students wearing pants oversized in length or width must be able to walk without holding them up. (new)

The dress code may be reviewed in Jean C. Few Primary School's Policies and Procedures Handbook that is provided to all parents.
