Working together for student safety at Few Primary

The safety of the youngsters who attend Few Primary School is and always will be a top priority.

The safety factor can become a real concern at peak traffic times at drop off and pick up times at the front of the school.

If all drivers will observe the designated traffic patterns, things will be much safer and less frustrating for everyone.

The front drive at Few Primary is one-way traffic, as indicated by arrows, from west to east.

Three lanes wide, the outside lane furthest from the building is for those who wish to park their car and get out, the inside lane is for student drop-off and pick-up, and the center lane for through traffic only.

The center lane should never be blocked. Drivers should always watch carefully for other cars pulling into the center lane from both the left and right.

Student pick up will go much smoother and more safely for the children if parents will remain in their vehicles and wait their turn at the designated pick-up point at their child's grade level exit.

Few staff members are on duty with two-way radio communication, calling students to be ready as their vehicle approaches.

Parents who wish to park their car and get out are asked to stay outside the fenced area where school personnel are supervising students waiting for pick up.

This eliminates confusion and staff members can be assured that an authorized adult is picking up each child.

Without a doubt, the safety of our children is important to everyone.

We know we can depend on each driver's courtesy and cooperation as we work together to make this a safe and successful year for our students.
