Rangers teach birdhouse construction

Martin Dies Jr. State Park on US Hwy. 190, 11 miles west of Jasper, will teach adults and kids how to build a bluebird house and how to maintain them this Saturday, Feb. 2, from 2 - 4 p.m.

Rangers will also talk about bluebirds, what they look like, how to identify them, and what they eat.

This event takes place in the Walnut Ridge Unit of the park. For a $5 donation you can build your own birdhouse from their kits or take home one of the already completed ones.

The park is open to the public 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily, and to overnight camping year round. For more information and rates call park headquarters at 384-5231.
