Monnie Edgar

Monnie Edgar, of Jasper, Texas, passed away January 28, 2008 at her home, she was 92 years old. A native of Burkeville, she was a longtime resident of Jasper, and had retired after 21 years from the First Federal Savings & Loan in Beaumont. Monnie was also a faithful member of Jasper's Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow at West Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, January 31, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Oaks.

Survivors include her son, Edwin Bush of Nederland, TX; her daughter, Michelle Brand of Jasper, TX; her sisters, Minnie Smith and Opal Phelps both of Jasper, TX; along with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to say a very special "Thank You" to Odyssey Hospice of Jasper for their wonderful kindness and help during Ms. Edgar's illness.
