Newton PD investigate liquor store robbery Newton Police are searching for a white male in connection with the armed robbery of Friend's Liquor Store Monday evening. According to Newton Police Chief Tomy Adams, the suspect entered the liquor store at 8:50 p.m. and displayed a revolver and demanded all the money from the cash register. Adams said no was hurt during the robbery and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled on foot from the liquor store, located at 214 Kaufman Street in Newton. The suspect is described as a white male, six foot and medium to heavy-set build. Adams said he was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt with a black bandana over his face and was last seen wearing dark jeans. "We don't have a good description of his face because he was concealed with the bandana," Adams said. "Residents should consider him armed and dangerous." Adams said last year the city of Newton experienced two armed robberies but both of them were solved. |
