County Clerk's office says turn in 911-address corrections now
Save time Election Day

If you didn't register to vote by this past Monday, Feb. 4, it's not too late to register for what is likely to be a run-off election March 10, and the presidential election in November.

Diana South of the Jasper County Clerk's office said they have come a long way in getting the voter registration addresses correct according to 911 standards.

"We're hoping anyone who did not get a new voter registration card in the mail in the last two months will contact us to update their information before election day," South said.

Former county treasurer Mary Jane Hancock set up a table at noon in the Jasper High School cafeteria to register students who will be old enough to vote in the next election.

"I tell them if they register now, when they are 90 they will be able to tell their great-grandchildren that they have voted in every single presidential election," Hancock said. "We have to help them understand how important this is."

Early voting in Jasper begins Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. For more information, call the county clerk's office at 384- 2632.
