Cases settled by plea bargains

District Judge Jerome Owens settled several cases by pleas at the Jan. 31 court session:

Arley Bean, 37, of Newton pleaded guilty to theft and received 15 months state jail.

Jerry W. Adkins, 37, of Brookeland pleaded guilty to theft and received five years deferred probation, $1,000 fine, $8,850.49 restitution, $286 court cost, attorney fee, and 120 hours community service.

Charity M. Hezekiah, 22, or Orange pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and received seven years deferred probation, $1,000 fine, $286 court costs, $140 restitution, attorney fee and 180 hours community service.

Tena Holt, 36 of Jasper waived indictment on deadly conduct and received five years deferred probation, $2,500 fine, $286 court cots, attorney fee and 160 hours community service.

D'Anna Foshee, 33, of Kirbyville waived indictment on possession of a controlled substance and received seven years deferred probation, $3,000 fine, $286 court cots, $140 restitution, attorney fee and 240 hours community service.

In motions to revoke probation or motions to adjudicate guilt, the following sentences were handed down:

Donald G. Franklin, 52, of Dallas, for retaliation received two years TDCJ (Texas Department of Criminal Justice), to run concurrently with another sentence for the same thing.

Earnest W. Booker, 58, of Newton for possession of marijuana received three years TDCJ.

Jeremy J. Williams, 24, of Jasper for delivery of a controlled substance received one year state jail.

Henry J. Parker III, 31, of Kirbyville, contested, for possession of a controlled substance received two years state jail.
