JISD sets dates for May election

The Jasper Independent School Board of Trustees has approved Saturday, May 10, as the uniform election date for election of trustees. Those whose terms expire are Eddie Hopkins and James Riley, and Brenda Job, each for a three-year term.

Applications for a place on the ballot must be filed not less than 62 days prior to May 10 and are to be filed with Linda Coleman at the JISD Administration Office beginning Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Following are dates pertinent to the election:

Last day to register to vote is April 10

First day to file for place on ballot, Feb. 9

Last day to file for place on ballot, March 10

First day to apply for ballot by mail, March 11

Last day to apply for ballot by mail (received, not postmarked), May 2

First day of early voting, April 28

Last day of early voting, May 6
