Jasper faces Orangefield for playoffs

      Jasper remained in the hunt for third place and a shot at the playoffs after splitting with Silsbee and Kirbyville last week. As of Friday night's 57-45 win over the Wildcats, the Bulldogs are a halfgame ahead of Orangefield.

      The Jasper Bulldog boys' soccer team lost 8-0 to Nacogdoches last week. It was their only game since Friday was a bye. "We came out in the first half intimidated," Coach Chris Coats said. "Nacogdoches is a great soccer team but when you play the way we did in the first half, anyone can beat you.
