Newton walk the halls

      A big topic of conversation in the Newton Independent School District during the past couple of months has been whether or not to adopt a standardized dress code (uniforms) for the 2008-09 school year. A public forum was held Feb. 18 in the NISD Auditorium to discuss the issue.

Procell's class writes to soldiers in Iraq
      For the Christmas holidays Ms. Procell's class, at Parnell Elementary, sent letters and Christmas cards to soldiers in Iraq. Carolyn McLemore, a fourth grade teacher, has a son stationed in Iraq and Ms. Procell's class chose to send their letter to him.
