Procell's class writes to soldiers in Iraq
Carolyn McLemore, a fourth grade teacher, has a son stationed in Iraq and Ms. Procell's class chose to send their letter to him. Here are a few letters the students wrote: Dear Soldier, I would like to say Happy Holidays and I hope you are well. The weather is cool, but not too cool. I hope you feel very happy that we wrote to you. We didn't forget about you. I hope you feel close to home. Happy Holidays! Sincerely, Amber Watson Dear Soldier, I would like to say Happy Holidays. Be safe because I don't want yall to get sick. Thank you for giving us freedom. I hope this makes yall feel like yall are at yall house. Sincerely, Brandon Warren Dear Soldier, I would like to say Happy Holidays and I hope you are well. I know you are away. I am doing well in the winter. It is very cold. I am glad for what you did for my country. Sincerely, Abby Kilcrease Dear Soldier, I hope you have a Happy New Year and thank you for what you are doing for our freedom and hope you are safe out there. Once again we would like to say thank you. Sincerely, Ashley Thornton Specialist Jimmey McLemore wrote to one student that he is a reconnaissance scout in the Third Infantry Division. His company lives at what once was an Iraqi Department of Transportation out post. He says it is next to a market area and there are a lot of local Iraqis who live near there; including a lot of Iraqi kids. He states that they have a mascot, a stray dog one of our guys found. He said your letter really means a lot to us out here. It makes us feel good to know that folks back home are thinking about us. With much appreciation, Spec 4 Jimmey McLemore ATroop, 3/1 CAV, 3BDE, 3ID |
