Jasper County Jail still holds Herring

Ricky Glenn Herring Jr., 22, who was arrested Feb. 6 and held on half a million dollar bond was still in Jasper County jail as of last week, according to sheriff's deputy Lt. Paul Tomplait.

Herring allegedly broke into a residence and raped a minor girl, age 13, who later reported the assault to her mother.

The girl knew her assailant's name and was able to pick his picture out of a photo lineup of similar faces, according to Tomplait.

Herring, who had no prior arrests, was found in Orange and arrested without incident.
