Miller to speak at Kirbyville UMC breakfast Joe Miller, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Newton, will speak at the Kirbyville fellowship breakfast sponsored by the Methodist Men in the activity room at Kirbyville United Methodist Church March 12 at 7 a.m. Miller is an East Texan by choice and has lived in Newton almost four years. He was originally from Kentucky, obtained a chemical engineering degree, and worked in the oil industry for more than 30 years. Miller is also president of the Newton Lions, a U. S. Army veteran, and on the advisory board of Second Hope Homes, an organization that has partnered with the Mennonite Disaster Service to help rebuild and replace homes damaged by Hurricane Rita. The breakfasts are nondenominational. The "Victory in Jesus" singers provide entertainment. |
