Brookeland walking the halls

Friday was an unusual day, Feb. 29. We only get to enjoy this date every four years. Brookeland schools took advantage of the opportunity and sent students with a group of parents to Destination Imagination competition in Mesquite.

School report cards for the fourth six week grading period were sent to parents Feb. 28 and the complete school/community enjoyed the excitement of sending our boys basketball team deep into the state playoffs. We are very proud of them.

The month of March presents new challenges for us. We held a TAKS pep rally March 4 at 3 p.m., are preparing for One Act Play March 6 and will attend a JUSTO concert in Woodville March 7.

On the local scene our elementary physical education begins the Wildcat Challenge competition March 6. All students and personnel are looking forward to spring break the week of March 10 - 15.

Our building program continues to progress slowly. We are looking forward to new classroom space, a new technology and vocational area and a new cafeteria.
