Seven students move on to state finals in rodeo competition

The Texas High School Rodeo Association Wrangler Junior High Division held its two day finals in Lufkin at the George H. Henderson Exposition Center. Jasper had seven students compete and all of them qualified for state finals in Gonzales June 3 - 7.
Cooper Davis won the All Around Cowboy saddle and qualified for state in bull riding, chute dogging, calf roping, goat tying, ribbon roping and team roping.
Jasi Shaw won the Rookie of the Year saddle and qualified for state in pole bending.
Brooke Kaylor won a saddle for being the champion breakaway roper and qualified for state in breakaway roping, goat tying, ribbon roping, pole bending and team roping. Matthew Morian qualified for state in goat tying, chute dogging, ribbon roping and calf roping. Braden Richardson and Justin Lewis both qualified in bull riding. Ashley Clark qualified in goat tying.
