Seven file for three seats on council

Seven citizens of Jasper have filed for three seats available on city council and the May 10 election.

In the race for District 3, incumbent Tommy Adams has filed for reelection and will face off against James C. Collier.

In the race for the District 4 seat, incumbent Gloria Monzingo has filed for re-election and will face the challenge of former Jasper city secretary Tommy Boykin Sr.

In the race for District 5 At-Large position, three have filed for the race. Incumbent Diane Pace did not file for the seat.

Terrya Northsworthy, Frank Perdichizzi and Wincy Walker have all filed for election to this position.

Early voting for the election will be April 28 through May 6 at Jasper City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On May 5 and 6, voting hours will be extended to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
