Walking the halls
By VICTOR WILLIAMS J.H. Rowe Intermediate Principal

Welcome back to walking the halls of J. H. Rowe Intermediate School.

Last week the fifth graders were administered the first of three administrations of the Reading TAKS test. Tutorial sessions are scheduled to begin after spring break for the April reading and math administration to ensure their readiness.

Parents, please encourage your child to take advantage of these opportunities for extra help. Our students can only be successful when the school and home work together.

I want to thank all of our teachers, staff, parents and students who are participating on committees to improve J. H. Rowe as a place where all students have the opportunity to be successful in the classroom.

Rowe Intermediate's upcoming events are:

March 10-14, Texas Public School week: retired teachers will join us for lunch, fifth grade will have their right choice celebration, sixth graders will take a reading mock test, fifth and sixth graders will have a math mock test, and Friday is open house for parents.

During the week of March 17-21 and Monday, March 24, students will be on spring break.

Thank you for walking the halls with me. Believe in yourself.
