JHS students earn high marks at DECA Four Jasper High School students recently competed at the state DECA contest in Corpus Christi, and senior Skylar Moore advanced to the international competition in the Individual Series Events in Business Services Management. Approximately 2,400 students from around the state competed. Moore's event consisted of an exam and two role-playing interviews. According to JHS DECA sponsor Martha Morian, "Skylar did well on his exam, but his role-plays were exceptional; he made a 98 on one and a perfect score of 100 on the other." Sterling Brodnax, Callie Dover and Zak Dowell also participated in the state meet. Morian said, "Each of them did extremely well, and I could not be more proud of how they handled themselves and how well they represented Jasper High School. They competed well, looked like young professionals and had a great time." The international competition will be in Atlanta, GA, April 26-29, and more than 13,000 students will compete. |
