Academy hair fair covers careers in cosmetology

Most people are not aware that there is a cosmetology school in Jasper, according to Terri Parker, owner of the Academy of Hair Design since 2004. The Academy will hold a career day March 15 to answer questions about careers in cosmetology.

Students are also doing fundraisers to go to Corpus Christi to attend a hair show. The students are asking the community and local businesses for help. Most students who attend the Academy are single parents having a tough time getting the essentials for school.

The girls will also have a booth at the Azalea Festival, March 15.
