John Henry Whitehead

Funeral services for John Henry "Bucky" Whitehead, 73, of Jasper were held March 8, 2008 at The Jasper Church of Christ in Jasper with burial at Hancock Cemetery.

Bucky died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Timberlake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Jasper. A native of Bon Wier, he was a lifelong Jasper resident. He graduated Jasper High School in 1954 where he played football all through his high school years.. He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of service in 1975 and then worked as a scaler for Louisiana Pacific until he retired in 1997.

Survivors include his wife Henryetta Chapman Whitehead of Jasper, three sons Todd Whitehead and wife Cindy of Jasper, Troy Whitehead and wife Amanda of Silsbee and Tony Whitehead and wife Mendy of Jasper, two brothers Leon Whitehead of Kirbyville and Ed Tom Whitehead of Comanche, one sister Hilda Faye Morgan of Pt Acres. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Whitehead and Ruby Whitehead and son Timothy Whitehead in 1986.
