Jasper boys' soccer team lost 10-0 to district leader Nacogdoches Friday night.

"We played the number one team in the district and started off well," Coach Chris Coats said. "We began well, playing great defense and getting a few shots on goal as well as a corner kick."

When the Dragons got a penalty kick and scored their first goal, the game took a drastic turn and the Bulldogs spent the remainder of the first half trying to defend their end of the field.

In the second half, Jasper's defense came on strong and were able to contain most of the Dragon offense.

"It was downhill after Nacogdoches scored on the penalty kick," Coats said. "They are just a great soccer team. We played well in the second half, keeping the Dragons to three goals. Standouts for us were Zach Riggins, Affan Zafar and Kaleb Burrows."

Jasper played Diboll Monday night and will end their season on the road Friday night against Livingston.
